Next you will choose one poem from the 4 in the packet from yesterday.

You will annotate that poem so you can use it as a tool to explicate it--identify literary devices, identify parts of the poem that are meaningful and try to say why.

Next you will move to the section of the room where all student comments on your poem are displayed. you are encouraged to push your thinking.Pictures of the work generated in class yesterday in case you were absent.

Next you will explicate one of the poems from yesterday using the guidelines on the handout Guidelines for the writing piece  Here is my example from "My Papa's Waltz" by Theodore Roethke.

We will continue this writing piece in class next time we meet so you will hand your work in upon the completion of the period.
