Students will visit 5 rooms today. They will take in the sights and sounds of the room and then exit the room. After exiting, they will fill out a section on this worksheet. Worksheets may NOT be filled out with room open.

            CURATORS WILL FINALIZE ROOMS TODAY
  1. Please place both names on the slide that introduces your room--Curated by...
  2. Place your name on your individual exhibit slide 
  3. Check your titles- Room title should be the topic; exhibit title should be the caption of the picture we are looking at--tell us who, when and where we are viewing
  4. Justify all text (select all and align using tools shown below)
  5. Double check your writeups by reading them aloud to your partner. Make changes as necessary 
  6. PRACTICE
  7. Secure device to record with. Be sure you are logged into a Google account that is yours, if someone has not logged out, be sure to log him/her out.
  8. Record as three separate tracks (rename so it is easy to find them)
  9. Share to your drive
  10. Create button that says AUDIO on each exhibit 
  11. Link tracks to the word AUDIO
  12. Proofread for typos and capitalizations

Today you will:
1. Choose a room to curate (Ms. Carlisto will give team # and collect room # from you)
 2. Fill the room you have chosen to curate with your images--be sure to place them in correct spot AND not to erase the link!
3. Copy and paste your text into the exhibit slide
4. Paste your image again on the exhibit page
5. Record your blurbs about each image
6. Upload that recording of yourself to your drive
7. Link audio to your image with a button that says AUDIO
8. Put all links to resources used in the table on resources page (copy these and fill in blanks.
9. Check all links and proofread for typos.

5/23

Today Mr. Clark will lead you in a peer editing run. You should critically look at each other's individual stories making sure each is logical and comprehensive.

Next, you will work toward making sure all pictures have working links and are ready to insert in the museum.

You should wrap up class by ensuring all writeups are finalized, with an eye toward interest level and coherence.

We will record tomorrow so practice today.

Today we will separate. As partners, you will decide who is responsible for which artifact.  One will be responsible for an historical document, while the other will take the lead on the eyewitness account.
All work must be documented on the workspace.

Today you will work together with your partner to devise an interesting way to tell the story of your topic. Approach it like the podcast people heading to your museum want to see engaging displays not to read textbooks!

The Goal: Complete your story by the end of the block. Your final draft needs to appear in the table on the workspace document.  Look below for the section you need to find:

The Story.  Museums often have audio recordings that tell “the story” of events.  In the space below, you and your partner need to tell the story of your event.  This recording will last 1.5 minutes-2 minutes (approximately a full typewritten page)  The main challenge here is to write the story so museum goers are interested.  This task shares many similarities to the writing of the podcast.  “The Story” needs to historically accurate but not sound like it’s being read from a textbook.

  • Guidelines for notes:
    • use own words
    • each of 8 sections need at least 3-9 substantial points
    • avoid complete sentences

Today we will officially kick off Clarklisto Civil Rights Movement by sharing the details of the museum you will curate.
