Begin with sheet of paper--complete Status of the class type sentence at top.  Pull post its from pages since Wednesday.  Choose 1 and write a formal Longwrite on this same sheet of paper. (20 minutes)
When done, Read in IR books.

Begin Lesson by completing discussion of what is an unjust law?

Relax and enjoy the weekend. (If you've been absent, take the weekend to catch up on missed work.)

  • Today we will begin by filling out a status of the class.
  • We will then read for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes we will pull post-its from the pages read between yesterday and today (use status of the class sheet to determine pages.
  • Place all pulled post-its on a new page in reflections section.
  • Choose 1 post it for a longwrite.
  • Complete longwrite #11
  • Turn in reader's notebook.


I will grade notebook--10 points in reading category for post-its, 10 points in writing for longwrite, 10 points misc category for yesterday's reflection.

HW: read 20 minutes, keep post its

Monday 4/24

Welcome back. Today everyone will sign into his/her Schooltool account to see current grades. We will talk about categories and I will hand back presentation material. Students who were absent are reminded to make use of 10th periods and my blog.

We then made an entry in our reader's notebooks in the about me section. We answered the following questions:

  • What is one strategy/approach to reading that you have noticed helps you?
  • What is one strategy/approach that may hinder reading for you?
  • Looking back at the books you have chosen this year, what types (genres) of book do you seem to like best?
HW: Read 20 minutes, take post its and be prepared to read and write about your reading tomorrow.
