Friday 3/17

We know your time has been cut short due to snow days and previews so we are going to gift you this first half of the block. Please take this time to turn the rough-rough draft of your story into a rough draft. Please use this sheet to help you identify shortcomings and address them.

When you have completed the draft, complete this form that will help us assess group work and hopefully push you to see what you can do to improve your group.

The second half of the block is devoted to identifying the possibilities for stories within the main story. You will do this by creating a map that shows at least 8 researchable stories within the stories. See here for example.

You will then be asked to consider each option and discuss the pros and cons of developing the story--consider how it will fit into the main story you have already written.

Decide which story you would most be interested in pursuing and try to find an article from a reputable source that will give you enough information to write your own "story within the story". Remember this is not an eyewitness account but more like a research article that you need.  You will be required to get Mr. Clark's approval for the article and the story within the story on Monday.

HW: On Monday you will need to meet in conference stations with the following :
1. Completed storyboard with "story within story map" on back
2. Your copies of the assigned story
3. Your completed rating sheet from today
