2/13

Today we read for 10 minutes then took a quiz on Ch 1.  We then began to briefly discuss the chapter.
HW: Read/log/post it
Longwrite--writer's craft

Find a post-it wherein you reacted strongly then go back to the text and try to figure out how the author was able to elicit that response.  Was it through plot? Imagery? figurative language?  point out particular words or phrases that struck you from that particular scene.

2/12

Today we read for 10 minutes in IR books then began reading ch 1 of Call of the Wild.  We looked carefully at setting and characterizations we read. HW is to finish reading Chapter 1 and keep post-it type notes as you read.  You may log this time reading.  Read carefully, read for understanding.  This may mean reading it more than once.

If you do not have your book please use the link to the right to find the book online.

2/11

Students turned in reading logs today and gathered new ones for the week of 2/11-2/19.  150 minutes are due by Tuesday of next week.

We then took the opportunity to talk books with Maggie McCandlish.  Great discussion guys and gals.

HW: Read/log/post it.
