Today we recapped yesterday, then moved forward in the book to begin chapter 3. I modeled how good readers, stop and check for understanding, take notes and make connections. We read the first two pages. If you missed class, it will be important to be sure you can answer all the questions on the worksheet for chapter 2.

Today we read for 10 minutes post-its focused on new vocal words. We then split into our partnerships and work don assigned questions. We then shared with the large group. We will have to finish our discussion on Tuesday. It is exciting to see a try learning community at work. I love watching you push each other. Keep up the good work. Don't forget logs are due on Tuesday. 150 minutes of time are expected:)

We read for 10 minutes today post-its should be centered around new vocab words you notice as you read. We then split into partnerships to discuss yesterday's quiz and to discuss context and vocabulary. Next the partners moved on to discuss the plot line of chapter 1 in order to prepare kurt way for deep analysis of chapter 1 tomorrow.

Today we read for 10 minutes in IR books then began reading ch 1 of Call of the Wild. We looked carefully at setting and characterizations we read. HW is to finish reading Chapter 1 and keep post-it type notes as you read. You may log this time reading. Read carefully, read for understanding. This may mean reading it more than once.

Today we spent ten minutes reading and taking post its that noticed reactions air author's craft. We then glued Plot handout into the tips section of our Reader's notebooks 9if you were out you will need to get this from me) We then went over the different elements of plot and discussed the first four lines of the book Call of the Wild by Jack London. As we read you will be expected to keep post it type responses on the hello handout given in class and to keep track of vocabulary words you do not know.

Today we read an article about a dog who survived on his own for 6 months and discussed how this could be possible. I also handed back RN with grades for the two long writes about author's craft. 3rd period students handed those in today as I forgot to collect them yesterday. HW tonight is to read logs and keep POST_ITS

Today we worked on a long write. I stressed the importance of going back to the words in the book to find out how the author was able to create the reaction s/he did. HW: Another long write!
